WHY MISSOURI LONDON?
The Missouri London Program is ideal for students who want to experience London without having to pay premium costs. Public transportation is easily accessible (though exploring London on foot is both essential and encouraged), so the city is always at your fingertips.
Student ambassadors and staff members from the Roehampton Abroad office offer airport pickup services for international students. Roehampton has a dedicated team to assist international students, and there are also other physical and mental wellness resources available on campus that will be discussed during your Roehampton orientation.
- Set just 45 minutes from Big Ben, the University of Roehampton gives you access to all of the excitement of London.
- The student body of the University of Roehampton is 80% British, meaning you'll have lots of chances to meet locals.
- A wide variety of classes are offered, covering numerous majors.
See program costs above for academic year, fall, spring, or summer.
This program is part of the Missouri Consortium for International Programs and Studies (MOCON): A consortium on public four-year universities in the state of Missouri. As a result, you may be participating alongside students from other Missouri universities.

Students with these majors should find plenty of bachelor-level coursework in ENGLISH. Make sure to check the course catalog below for specific course availability.
Also Good: Anthropology, Psychology, Education, Philosophy, Physical Education

This program works well for the UMSL majors listed above, but most programs can work well for all majors if students can take courses for elective credit. Check with your academic advisor and the study abroad office to learn about your options!
The University of Roehampton is delighted to offer a wide variety of modules to students on the Study Abroad Program. Unless otherwise stated, all modules will be taken alongside full degree students at Roehampton to ensure you have plenty of opportunities to meet local students and fully integrate into campus and university life. You can take modules that relate to your major, minor or general education, as long as you meet any pre- or co-requisites. Enjoy access to computer labs in every college as well as WiFi on campus.
You can choose your modules by going to the Study Abroad Module Catalogue.
If you are coming in the fall, you should choose modules that end in an A (Autumn). If you are coming in the spring, you should choose modules that end in an S (Spring).
Modules can be selected up to a maximum of 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year. 10 UK credits are considered to be equivalent to 2.5 US credits/5 ECTS. 20 UK credits are considered to be equivalent to 5 US credits/10 ECTS.
Updated module (course) information for the upcoming academic year will be uploaded to the University of Roehampton website program pages by mid-April.

UMSL students can attend the Missouri London Program for the Academic Year, Fall, Spring, or Summer Semester.
UMSL students studying abroad on the Missouri London Program will pay tuition and other fees directly to the University of Roehampton, and they will earn transfer credit. If you are a transfer student, please contact your academic advisor to confirm that you will not exceed the maximum number of transfer credits allowable at UMSL.

We aim to guarantee accommodation in one of our halls of residence for all study abroad students, provided you apply in good time. Rooms are single occupancy study bedrooms with shared kitchen facilities, shared bathrooms, and an internet connection. Roehampton strives to place one American student per flat, so that you will always be able to interact with locals and other international students. Every building has a canteen and a café, and there are plenty of other cafés and diners on campus if you’re not sure of your culinary skills.
The goal of the University is to provide a living/learning environment which promotes academic and personal growth and a sense of community among students.
The Study Abroad team will apply for accommodation on your behalf. If you are to be invoiced directly for your accommodation costs, you will also need to apply via our online system. Further details will be sent to you nearer the time.
In order to help you immerse yourself in London and the UK during your time with us, we organize the Study Abroad Social Program. The program is updated every semester and full details will be sent to you in the pre-departure information we send to you once you have been accepted on to the Study Abroad Program.
In Spring 2015, students took part in trips to Greenwich, Hampton Court Palace, a weekend trip to York and the North of England, Cambridge plus a walking tour and theater performance in London.
WHAT UMSL STUDENTS ARE SAYING
Check out what these students have to say about the Missouri London Program!
"I really enjoyed how my classes took advantage of being in London and really used the city as a classroom. I am a visual learner so I loved learning about the rich history of London during the walks we took around the city rather than just sitting in class for three hours. Studying abroad in England was the best decision I've made...My advice for those who are on the fence about studying abroad would be to take the opportunity to do it because it is a once in a lifetime experience that not a lot of people get..." "I became even more independent and really tried to take advantage of traveling. The Missouri London Program also has what they call a social program where they take you on trips by coach and train to amazing sites. I visited Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath, Tower of London, Hampton Court, and many other sites..." (continue reading)
